The numbers presented here are from the BP Staticstical Review of World Energy. These include crude oil, shale oil, oil sands and NGLs(the liquid content of natural gas where this is recovered separately). Excludes liquid fuels from other sources such as biomass and coal derivatives.

The International Energy Agency and the U.S. Energy Information Administration also provide these statistics although they all have slightly different values. The reason for choosing the BP Statistical Review of World Energy is that it is free and readily available online.
